A bit of rain the week leading up to this year’s Capital Punishment 100km race helped set the tracks up for perfect conditions. Being my favourite race on the calendar for many reasons, taking the win was something I really wanted, so I made sure it happened. The key to this was the fact that thankfully this year there weren’t any dirty tactics or ‘negative racing’. It was a good clean race with all riders just sharing the work and pushing along in a positive way.
A full race report is on the way, but in the meantime check out the following reports from two of the best rider-writers I know. Their accounts of the race are not only informative and interesting, but witty and entertaining.
